Caught in the web, a solitary dust mote

I pinched the title to this post from a remarkable Blog caled One Million Footnotes that features random disembodied quotes. I am suffering from a mild case of comment envy though, one entry:
"He always wrote in red ink, so no-one could correct him." triggered 21 commets.

However, you have got to love this site which records for the public good examples of poor writing that has been published by real publishers in exchange for money. A selection of my favourite being:
"He was as guarded as a virgin, but infinitely more experienced."
"She popped the elastic at the top of the second sock and pushed her sexually ambiguous Timed watch up along the blond hairs of her handsome forearms."
and,
"The blood that had abandoned her countenance rushed into his." Classic.
