The light of day
Getting up this morning was much more fun than usual on a Monday since for once it was almost daylight when I left the house.
This weekend was quite surreal. The Boy was playing Grand Theft Auto (the new one) all weekend and I was cheerleading and dozing. Weakened by this high-octane excitement I allowed myself to be taken for a walk on Sunday with Amber and we wandered contentedly through the park in Leamington. There were hoardes of people there - where do they all come from; is it the same ones every time? Anyway, there were some lovely squirrels and swans to talk to and we got something to eat from the Newbold Brasserie on the way home: excellent and serves lunch until 6pm unlike most eateries in the Leam.
This weekend my mother is visiting Ofchurch for a Church Women's weekend away. This annual excursion is in a different retreat each year and it is pure coincidence (I'm told) that the location should be 3 miles from my home. She is happy as this means she can legitimately bunk off 'crafts' and go to the pub instead of doing the WI-style things churchy-types are expected to do however this means that I miss out on the mishapen teddy or lopsided pot that I have come to look-forward to in past years. She says she will buy me something professional but its just not the same...
